The image was taken on a copystand of the framed photograph that is for sale, I have cropped out the matt & frame but you can see the edge of the matt where there is a black slip, no retouching has been done, the actual framed photograph looks much better than the image you are seeing.
This is a 20"x24" hand print [C type] printed in the darkroom, 2 of 125. It was printed on Fuji super glossy archival paper using an oversize neg carrier to get the black line around the image, this is created by the light from the enlarger going past the edge of the negative & making a black line on the light sensitive paper, this detail looks great & gives another frame but can only be done when printing 'full frame' & is very difficult.
My fine art photographs are not commissioned or set up, they are moments in my life happening in front of me, you are seeing exactly what I saw at that moment in the viewfinder.
It was shot on Kodak Royal Gold 100asa colour negative out side Churchill's bar in Miami, the only light was from the neon beer signs in the window of the bar which gives the beautiful colour I also love the composition, I didn't know them, which made it tricky to get the shot but I love the way the beautiful girl is looking straight down the lens & making great 'eye contact'
Hand held 1/3rd of a second at F2.8.
In today's digital world you will not see many hand printed colour photographs this large.
Fuji super glossy archival paper, acid free archival mount board, Nielsen aluminium frame.
