Mexican food is my all-time favourite, and food is the subject I come back to paint the most. So this latest A4 unframed painting is of a Tex-Mex style burrito, and I've made it a veggie one too, with the main ingredients being beans, lettuce, peppers, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. And to give it an added flair I depicted the insides bursting out all over the painting in a joyous celebration of colour.

I love painting and illustrating food in a simple and bright style that is heavily influenced by classic pop art and modern graphic design, and this painting is no different. I'm less concerned with realism in my art, more with creating simple impactful images that you'll want to hang in your home.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pens on high-quality A4 acrylic paper. It's also signed and dated on the back for authentication as depicted.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
