EXIBITION - mixed media with photographic image on panel with enamel and varnish, 80x80 cm.
In this work, the dominant note is ‘provocation’, as several spectators are -descended- by a woman sitting on a toilet who intentionally intends to hide her intimacy. Here too, the face remains hidden by the thick hair, while the woman almost emerges from the frame of a painting. A mental place, imagined on the border between reality and fiction, a stage where a theatrical action takes place. Evasions into private worlds where we are free to show our shadowed side.
At the centre of this narrative, the woman. A confident woman. Seductive but not out of a desire to attract, by their nature, they are women who take up all the space, they are protagonists because they do not know how to be otherwise. Because they are the centre of actions, of changes, of value transitions. The woman, sought out, selected, photographed directly by me, becomes a character in a story, an anonymous icon of the present time. Not mere transgression or provocation for its own sake, art must also be able to grasp the signs to escape the anxieties of tomorrow and offer new horizons to hope, with classical sensitivity and palpitating modern elaboration.
