Artwork description:

Evening Walk is one of a suite of linocut prints exploring the activity of dogwalking in suburbia. In this series I use the process of relief printing to record the bond between humans and animals in an everyday environment.

I spend lots of time walking my local streets exercising our dog and this activity provides the inspiration for my art work, which starts with a simple line drawing recalling incidents on route from memory.

The bold graphic effect is achieved by using a number of linoleum blocks and opaque and transparent colour inks.

I transfer my drawing onto the linoleum with red carbon paper and carve into the surface intuitively with sharp lino cutting tools.

A unique handmade print using a traditional Albion platen press to transfer the image from linoleum onto smooth Fabriano 200gsm acid free paper.

Paper Size: 50 x 36 cm
Image size 42 x 29.7 cm

This print is designated TP (Test Print) and is titled and signed in pencil, protected with glassine tissue paper and sealed in a cellophane. Carefully rolled and packed in a sturdy triangular tube, insured, tracked Royal Mail delivery within the UK and 2 to 3 working days for Europe, 3 - 5 days Globally, so that it arrives safely and in perfect condition.
