Painted on-site in the artist's neighborhood in Minneapolis. Features an autumn maple tree in dazzling shades of lemon yellow, golden yellow, and yellow-green. The evening light is portrayed by the pale, clear sky with hints of pink and blue. The background shows hints of orange and green trees and burgundy-red shrubs. The ground is dusted with fallen leaves. Watery effects in the background are created with casein paint, and glazed over with oil. The texture of the tree's foliage is enhanced with oil paint thickly applied by palette knife. Oil on canvas with painted sides, it is ready to hang and requires no frame, but may be framed if desired.
