Inspired by an evening stroll along a local beach in North Devon under a heavy evening sky. I've returned to one of my favourite ways of painting. Using a combination of semi-abstract and realism in thickly applied textural layers of paint to the foreground to describe the contours of the beach. An impact piece. I've chosen a rich palette of blues, violets, ochres & sandy oranges & browns to provide warmth and depth to the work. Sides have been painted too. Materials used include oil, impasto medium and acrylic. The work has been sealed for durability. Please bear in mind that paintings over $800 US or $1000 in Australia may incur customs duties in addition to the delivery cost - do check first.
