This reduction linocut was inspired by the beautiful late afternoon light over the sea at Torcross, Devon. A reduction lino cut is a method of relief printing in which each colour layer is taken from the same block (lino), meaning that an entire edition must be printed in one go as once the lino has been carved into for the next layer, you can't go back to print more.
