A rain-soaked summer day ends with a glorious evening sky in Cambridgeshire, England. This landscape is just outside my home village on the edge of the fertile fens.

Christopher Witchall's landscape paintings capture the light, space and vast skies of the Cambridgeshire fens, where he has lived, explored, painted and photographed for 30 years.
His unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
