Langstone Mill is an old favourite and I have painted it several times. The mill is historic. The tower is what remains of the old windmill, built in the c18, and sails removed in the c19. The next building was the grain store, and the one far left was the tide mill.
Left to rot for many years, the mill was rescued and restored by famous artist Dame Flora Twort in the 1930s
There is an association with Neville Shute, the novelist who lived here during WW2 and did some of his writing here
The mill is situated on the south coast of Hampshire, UK, near Hayling Island
Cold pressed watercolour paper
