The only term that describes this pose is "sultry". This is a portrait of Etta James. Her powerful, earthy voice bridged the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll. She won six Grammy Awards and 17 Blues Music Awards. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.[3] Rolling Stone magazine ranked James number 22 on its list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. ETTA is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
I work exclusively with India ink and acrylic paint on 4 mil archival grade mylar. the acrylic for the background work and the India ink for details.
All of my artwork has a clear protective coating applied so that it is not necessary nor desirable to put it behind glass.
This painting will be shipped in a 4 inch diameter PVC tube. The painting is very easy to mount on any type of sturdy surface (masonite, plywood, foamboard, etc.). I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell. If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on tempered masonite board with a two or three inch border surrounding the painting. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $50.00 for mounting plus the additional shipping costs.
