I consider myself hugely lucky to live on the coast, where I can observe it in all its different moods. The iconic 'White Cliffs of Dover' start in Kingsdown the village where I live and finish in Folkestone before starting again further down the coast into Sussex. I suffer from vertigo so am limited to which cliff paths I can take, so I spend quite a lot of time at the foot of the cliffs looking up at nesting birds and taking in their awesome power!
Sometimes especially when a sea mist is rolling in or in certain times of day and weather conditions, they have a wonderful atmospheric and ethereal feel. Painted intuitively from memory and feelings, this oil on board is inspired by such times.
