This print is another inspired by poetry, this time one by William Blake called Eternity.
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sun rise.
I created this linocut as my response to this beautiful poem. After I had finished cutting it however I did think the name fitted in another way as it seemed to take an eternity to cut.
My linocuts are handmade from start to finish, hand carved, rolled and handprinted, as in the nature of linoprints and the handmade process they may have small variations. This I feel is part of the charm of printmaking and makes each print into both a unique artwork and part of a limited edition run.
Each print is signed, titled and numbered, you might not receive the number seen in the photograph.
