What you see in this artwork is what I call “Dream Landscapes”, not an exact copy of a place, but the sensation that nature transmits to me when seeing it live or through other artworks, as paintings, surfing the Internet, listening to music, etc., and later expressing it in a symbolic way.
This artwork belongs to a new series called "Natural Flags". They are landscapes of more or less abstract shapes on a white background because it represents a dawn, a new way of seeing things, life.
The artwork is titled “Eternal flame” and it is a symbolic landscape, that is, it is and is not a landscape. It is titled after the song by the group The Bangles. A kind of fire of life. It tells us that perhaps there is not so much difference between living and non-living beings. The wind carries seeds and something that is essential for life: oxygen and water. We also share our chemical composition with rocks: minerals. We look for water on other planets because its existence is associated with life. Like the wind, the water also carries substances that nourish both plants and animals, forming part of our body.
Human beings tend to see things from their perspective, on a human scale and in general, physically, without expanding the sense and meaning of things and creating a kind of barrier.
It takes water much longer to sculpt the stone in the mountains or paint the fields green and the sea blue or the sky gray.
Maybe if we lived on a planet without water and each year was like a second in our life, we would see it differently and value what we have and should keep much more.
There´s no need to frame it but it´s recommended.
