It often happens that people feel inadequate, that they fear of not being able to solve problems or to reach their own desires or ideals. In those situations there is a feeling of smallness, a creeping fear of failure, of making a fool, of being disappointed again. Last year placed me several times in difficult situations in which I began to doubt myself, both from a human and artistic point of view. This painting has two different purposes: first, giving shape to the feeling of inadequacy that haunted me for months, and second to be a good omen for a future in which I hope to set out with the same light and confident soul that I had when I walked with my sister guiding her along mountain paths in the presence of majestic Dolomite landscapes.
The mountains represented are in fact real and are located around the Cima Val di Roda, in the Pale di San Martino group. I chose to depict them as we saw them from the Alta Via of the Dolomites n.2 where we were hiking in August 2019.
