Original artwork description:

Aglaope is one of the few expressive Beauties that is still available from my studio.

Comparing this series with what I make nowadays, we see a far more raw and direct artistic expression. The control of the medium was not as strong, yet I made this up with a freshness only young artists have.
(there is something about growing into a mature human being, hormones settling down etc)

In this overly red painting we see a stylized head of a young woman with big eyes and sensual lips glancing back at the viewer. Her long, dark blue hair seems soft, yet spiky at some points.
The silver background reminds us of some sort of dazed halo.

I have noticed this artwork is open to many interpretations. One could say that in spite of the dark colors, this painting has a hopeful feel to it. Other viewers have commented that for them, it has a rather gloomy and melancholic feel to it.

As for technique, first I painted the features of the face with acrylics, once that was ready, I poured the synthetic enamel in a figurative way on top of it.

The flanks are painted along with the painting.
