Original artwork description:

A collector recently emailed me to tell me that she and her husband had come to Maine to "escape into nature" and had found my work at a local gallery. She said that my paintings allowed her the ability to escape the stresses of the world, just like taking a hike in nature. So I titled this painting after her!

I love this little painting - it came into this world without much struggle! I really tried to vary the brushwork - to lay down a stroke and leave it alone. The brushwork gives it such a sense of life!

The canvas is not as pronounced as it seems in the photos. My camera really loves those variations in canvas.
