Original artwork description:

This was painted from a view high up in the canyons above the Escalante River in Utah. It is a site where many dinosaur fossils have been found.
The aeons of time that have passed since the creation of these spectacular places can be seen in the stripes of multicoloured rock.
I have tried to express this feeling and the immensity of this place with horizontals bands of colour fading into a heat haze of purples and blues.
