‘Erecura’ is a mixed media collage/assemblage presented in a glazed, soft wood box frame. The image is 20cm x 20cm, with the framed size at 24cm x 24cm. The box depth is 3.5cm.
‘Erecura’ is one of a series of assemblages in response to coastal environments. This piece is inspired by peaceful, early morning walks along the coastline during spring.
‘Erecura’ combines the subtle textures and patterns of papers, tissue paper, torn pieces of photograph and canvas fabric. The surfaces are painted with acrylic paint. A drawing and the words ‘of mists and mellow hours’ are embedded into the image. Found, pressed coastal wild flowers have been arranged across the collaged surface.
