Returning from a plein air painting day in Haute-Provence, the sky blazed, I stopped my car and took the time to observe this magical atmosphere before undertaking this small painting (6x8 in). I paint fast because I knew I did not have much time ahead of me, but darkness forced me to interrupt my work, I finished painting later in my workshop, from memory of this beautiful moment.
