"Enchanted Place" comes from the lovely woods close to my home in the Peak District. This is one of my favourite woodland areas where I often walk taking my sketchbook. Bright sunlight filters through the leaves and delicate rays create shadows over the forest floor, while the eye wanders over the semi-abstract marks in the foreground.

An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I use a variety of techniques including scumble and glaze with layer on layer. Other parts of the painting are worked with a palette knife, creating a contemporary painting, which lies somewhere between abstraction and realism. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
