Following in the footsteps of the Ostrich, here is an Emu; the second largest bird in the world.
Its strange how similar they look--almost like siblings.I have painted this one differently, though.
This is very wet-on-wet color technique, where dry brush is almost negligible- making the painting look fresh and expressive.
Usually Emu are black, grey or brown- but my Emu is a rich, dark purple with a hint of blue.Makes him stand out of the crowd.
The painting is fresh from easel, painted on artist quality watercolor paper; and it will ship flat.
100% acid-free watercolor paper and W & N pigments
