This started off as a carefully painted abstract, which I then over-painted in pale yellow and then removed this wet yellow paint with a silicon-tipped brush and a sponge. I like the fact you can see the shapes below but the dominant shapes are those caused by the sponge.
It would suit any location from a modern apartment to a period home. It looks great in our Victorian dining room (see in situ photo).
The construction is canvas stretched over a wooden frame which is not visible. It is ready to hang.
Acrylic paint brushed over canvas and allowed to dry. Over-painted with pale yellow paint and then selected areas of this yellow paint were removed with a silicon-tipped brush and a sponge to reveal the colours beneath.
