This oil painting is part of a series of works celebrating the distinctive spaces and atmosphere of London Underground stations. These works are often characterised by lurching viewpoints, stark perspectives and unpopulated spaces (along with the occasional re-purposing of advertising posters).

By these methods Rebecca aims to take an ordinary, everyday city scene and reveal its underlying and overlooked beauty and style.

This piece shows a Northern line platform at Elephant & Castle station in Newington, south London.
