Elephants are my favourite animals and I love how they can be so big, strong and gentle and also how their mouths always seem to be smiling. This is one of a collection of pencil drawings of elephants that was done "en plein air" in the Elephant Safari Park, Taro, Bali in 2007. It is a very special place that rescues Sumatran elephants and gives them a better life. It also has rooms overlooking the park so you can watch them all day and night and even experience washing them! There were around 25 elephants in total and I really enjoyed having the chance to make numerous drawings and paintings of them as they ate, drank, slept and went about their duties. After studying them as I drew, I even started to notice and recognize the different personalities and body shapes of each individual. They are mighty, beautiful and noble creatures. I have included detailed pictures showing how the brown paper can look different in differing light.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
