My new abstract art explores the theme of networks. In this series, I use painted networks to create a single result from its many individual lines. I use a network of random lines that all join together to create an unexpected result, or in my case, a surprise image. Like reading a Rorschach inkblot, my subconscious offers up a recognizable shape or scene from the materializing network. In this process, my painting, “El Toro Kickin’ Up Dust,” evolved. This bright red and white artwork is enhanced by the vivid red paint on the side of the canvas, so that it does not need a frame. Wired and ready to hang. Displayed at my solo exhibit, “Networks,” at CornerStone Art Gallery, Indiana and recently at GACI Gallery in Chicago.
