"Eiffel Tower And Paris Rooftops In Sunlight" is a textured stylized cityscape impasto palette knife oil painting on stretched canvas 25x25 cm (10x10 inches), 2019.
This painting is part of my Paris Rooftops Views stylized cityscapes series and it is a new approach on a larger canvas of my previous oil painting "Paris Rooftops view from Centre Pompidou".
I was inspired to paint this scene by the lovely view of Paris rooftops from Centre Pompidou. If you have visited Paris you may be familiar with the view of Paris while walking through the glass tubes corridors attached to the main facade of George Pompidou Center.
I often travel to Paris and I always find there my inspiration. It has special magic for me and I hope you can feel it through my paintings...
The painting was realized in the impasto technique, with heavy textures of oil paint applied with a diversity of palette knives.
I have always loved to approach my urban paintings in a myriad of ways. I enjoy stylizing architectural forms in various manners. This has always been one of my goals, even a preoccupation from the time I was studying at the school of architecture until the present. The versatility of oil paint along with my prototypic work with palette knives allows me to play with the urban forms abstracting the city in an unconstrained manner.
