Artwork description:

E is for Egret! I'm working on an alphabet book of endangered birds. Egrets are endangered bird. In the past, they were hunted for their feathers...for women's hats. They are majestic birds!
This is a colored linocut! I drew the egret onto linoleum, cut it out, inked it up and put it through my press. Then, I went in and colored it...just slightly because I wanted the white to stand out against the black background!

Materials used:

linoleum, oil-based ink, Strathmore 500 paper, watercolor
