Efa is another from my circular spin series. I am experimenting with different ratio of ‘background’ and ‘spin’ and also using different colour combinations. I love these pieces for lots of reasons. One being that they look great as a solo piece and also in a collection with others from the series. In the past people have chosen opposite colour background a spin sections that look great together. Others have chosen to match the pastel and deeper colours together – also looking great together.

Secondly, they don’t need to be framed and look great on their own. But they also look great framed individually or as a collection inside one frame. Having a diameter of 50cm means that they can fit in most spaces.

Thirdly, I love that each piece is unique. Creating another exactly the same would be very difficult. So you know that you have a one of a kind painting – no prints are made either.

Efa has a background created using each colour of the rainbow, but in more calming pastel shades. The shapes and patterns created are fairly intricate, meaning there are lots to look at. The spin section of the piece is fairly large and I used a couple of different greys and white to offset the colourful background.
