One of a series of paintings of this well known view. The vantage point is located at the top of the steps leading down The Vennal to the Grassmarket. On the horizon looms Edinburgh Castle. Always a dramatic sight. It is winter. The sky is quite dark and grey and snow covers nearly everything.
I hope this painting might remind people, who have visited Edinburgh, of this particular place.
