Archival photographic print on fine art paper. 2cm white border for framing.
As a photographic artist, I have no interest in simply recording what is in front of me. My aim is always to reveal a new story through transformation. Originally conceived as colour images, these black and white versions of trees were inspired by an exhibition of Rembrandt etchings.
I use old cameras and combine historic photographic processes with digital technology to create images that appear to exist somewhere between imagination and reality. In trying to replicate a painterly feel, I hope that the resulting images are a reminder of the wonder of nature and the world around us.
