Artwork description:

ECHOES OF THE NORTH SEA is a small collection of 21 meticulously selected shots from among dozens of photographs taken in the autumn of 2019 on the endless sandy expanses of the North Sea's eastern coasts, between the Netherlands and Skagen, the northernmost tip of Denmark.

In these shots, all taken using long exposure techniques and strictly in black and white (with a light selenium toning), the interplay of light and shadow and the contrasts between the white of the waves and the intense gray of the sand are highlighted, while the sinuous silver hues of the clouds dominate the entire scene.

ECHO #2 is a photograph that evokes a sense of vastness and introspection. The scene is blurred and monochromatic, with shades of gray blending sky and earth, creating a suspended and indefinite atmosphere. The faded shadows in the distance resemble vague, almost spectral figures, barely emerging from the landscape, giving the impression of a distant memory or recollection. The blur and undefined contours convey a sense of calm, silence, and mystery, as if time itself were suspended in this ethereal space.
