Artwork description:

Ebb and flow is an etching combining abstract and figurative elements. It depicts a small boy in silhouette at the waters edge looking out to sea.

The etching plate is printed in tones of warm blue grey using a chine colle method which involves placing thin handmade paper on to the etching plate as it is rolled through the press. The resulting print has the layer of handmade paper permanently bonded under the etching.

The print is made on Somerset printmaking paper using oil based printing inks.

The etching size is 19.5 x 19.5 cm on to 28 x 28cm paper (approx) and is unmounted and unframed on a white mountboard backing in a cellophane sleeve. It would fit well into a standard 12" x 12" frame.

Due to the nature of the printing process there may be slight variations between works in the edition. As with all works of art, care should be taken to display away from direct sunlight and excess humidity.
