"Earth Meets Sky" is part of the "Changeful Dreams" collection which introduces Illuminated forest landscapes alongside pastel seascape paintings, bathed in the amber light of autumn. This collection came together rather like a dream - it is composed of various visual fragments that have been woven together to create emotive illusory landscapes.
This piece begins with a wash of ink and bold strokes of acrylic paint, followed by the application of light washes of oil paint on the canvas. These decisive gestural brush strokes and soft veils of light harmonize in a meditative balance. Depth and variegation are achieved in autumnal hues, rich jewel tones and warm layers of colour. The scenes that emerge are tranquil, reflective, mysterious... rather like a dream.
