EARLY MORNING IN MONTAUK
2021
150 (h) x 120 (w) x 2 cm
59,1 (h) x 47,2 (w) x 0,79 in
acrylic and oil on canvas
Inspired by the beautiful landscape in the Hamptons in early autumn…
Let's go to the lighthouse, Long Island behind us, the sea in front of us. End of the world, just one more step. The young sun shows us the way to the horizon. In the morning, when the sea still seems calm and the first light drives away the ghosts of the night, everything seems possible to us. then you push aside all the clouds with a single smile, then this moment becomes eternity and this place bears your name forever. And we feel like giants, freed from the shadows of the big city.

"There are so many different worlds in Long Island. That's why it's so fascinating. Between Great Neck and Montauk, there are 10,000 worlds."

This painting is a LARGE-SIZED artwork and offers an aesthetic impression on your wall AND as my authentic and personal artwork an artistic subsurface message. It is for sale as a single piece and as the left part of the statement-piece and triptych LATE SUMMER IN THE HAMPTONS. For more photos and additional information on the work, please read the very extensive, current interview about my art and painting philosophy on my English website (also available as PDF-file for download).
I use exclusively oil and acrylic colors, canvas and wooden frames in a professional museum quality. The paintings bears my signature on the front and is signed, entitled and dated on the backside. Deliberately the sides are not a part of the painting and show the white and pure canvas with a few splashes of paint to emphasize the intuitiveness and spontaneity of the painting process. The painting is ready to hang (on the backside: high-quality iron plates with metal inserts and nylon rope for gallery use), unframed and doesn’t need a frame or any additional surface treatment. The piece will be safely shipped in a custom wooden crate. It will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a cover letter.
Please note: In context pictures are not necessarily to scale and are for illustrative purposes only. If you have any questions about this artwork or any other piece, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work.
Warm wishes,
