This Acrylic on Brown Paper Painting was done over a few nights from the balcony of my apartment in Taipei City. It is an early evening view of the city looking towards Taipei 101 from just after sunset before the true darkness of the night comes. At the time I was painting this picture the weather was very rainy and overcast and the light on the top of Taipei 101 would shine on the low rainclouds creating the brighter band across the night sky. This was actually my inspiration for making the piece, to try to capture the effect of the reflecting light on the clouds. You can also see the lights of people’s homes turning on for the evening. I like to return to this subject and view and have made many different versions of it over the years.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
