Abstract impressionist landscape painting.
An abstracted, impressionist landscape painting.
I live surrounded by banks on two sides of my home. Grasses weeds and flowers proliferate! This forms the basis of inspiration for many paintings, including this one. Through my kitchen window I can see the early evening light creeping in, with longer shadows and slightly deeper skies.
I love to use lots of watercolour like layers of quality acrylic paint, (Golden and Lascaux mainly) and build up the painting quite slowly, I then drop, and spatter paint to create a rich varied paint surface.
This 40x100cm painting is unframed. It has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
