ECLISSI is a metal work that captures the viewer from the first glance thanks to its intense and symbolic composition. Created through the superimposition of bronze and oxidised aluminium plates, the work stands out for the dynamic contrast between materials and finishes, creating an evocative dialogue between light and shadow. The bronze plates, with their warm, almost antique-like patina, are juxtaposed with the oxidised aluminium, which brings with it cooler tones and a rougher, more irregular texture. This combination is not accidental: the skilful use of the two metals evokes the image of an eclipse, in which partial darkness overlaps light, creating an unstable yet harmonious balance. Each plate, positioned in a precise yet apparently spontaneous manner, suggests the passage of time and the transformation of matter, transforming metal into a visual language that speaks of contrasts and metamorphosis.
The interplay of shiny and opaque surfaces, combined with the effect of oxidation, gives the work an almost atmospheric dimension: the reflections of the bronze seem to capture the sun's rays, while the oxidised aluminium refers to a more distant and mysterious light, like that of a lunar phase. This contrast between hot and cold, between the visible and the ephemeral, makes ECLISSI a work that invites the observer to reflect on the cyclical nature of life and on the moments of transition that, while seemingly fleeting, leave a lasting impression.
