Original artwork description:

I love horses, and seeing them in motion is a real miracle. When I go to stables or farms I always stop to contemplate them, I really like to observe them and be with them in silence. interacting with them, caressing them and looking them in the eye is a very intense emotion that always accompanies me while I draw. They are magical, they embody a power and a sensitivity that even when still they tell an intense movement.

With this design I wanted to study them in their most dynamic form, that is, an unbridled race. I then decomposed the scene by tracing and out of phase the dynamic lines until the shape fades.

A synthesis study like this is very useful for me to train myself to conceive form, light and saturation as a whole in motion.

The drawing is the preparatory sketch for the painting "Per aspera ad astra" which I made in oil in 2021

Materials used:

colored pencils
