This artwork is the small pre-study proposed for the Muted Collection Liquitex on Artfinder.
Inspired by nature and poetry
The three landscapes that I present as entries in the Muted Collection have a common thread that unites them: they depict moody, atmospheric and quiet moments in nature. I love that time of day when the light is scarce: either early morning —just before the light starts breaking through or at dusk – when the sun leaves a glow behind, as a reminder of its glory.
Haiku, as a poetry form, always resonated with me. It often relates to elements of nature, and it is most often used as a celebration of nature. For each of my three paintings, I chose a haiku that was both an inspiration and a short meditation to capture the mood of the piece.
For this particular piece, a haiku by the famous Japanese poet Bashō, gave the tone:
This road
Where no one treads
Autumn dusk falls
--Dusk, Haiku by Bashō
This particular piece is the small version, the pre-study of the larger artwork entitled 'Dusk' , painted in oil, on a special oil paper fitted on an 16x20 cm mdf board. It is varnished for protection. It would require a wooden frame in order to be ready to hang.
All my paintings are delivered with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Materials used:
Best quality professional oil paint on oil paper fitted on mdf board. A coat of Gamvar varnish has been applied for protecting the painting.
