Original artwork description:

Dusk over woodland
Duck egg blue,
Pink blush,
Custard yellow,
Infuses the sky,
Wincombe woods,
The fertile vale.

Words and thoughts of my experience of being in this landscape in the past.
The Wincombe woods are ancient woods protected by the private estate and Lord Wincombe.I have walked these fields many a time and the light over this area is unusual with the muted rich colours of the trees and grasses. This area of countryside is just over the border between North Dorset and Wiltshire.
I used a wet in wet technique, layers of back washes in Watercolour.A large sable haired brush pointed was used throughout and my helpful Filbert brush made of hogs hair. The paper is rough textured watercolour paper acid free Bockingford cold pressed 140lb.A dragging technique was applied for the grasses in the field -Watercolour paint -Holbein.

Materials used:

Rough textured watercolour paper acid free Bockingford,Holbein watercolour paints, large sable haired brush,Filbert brush, water,
