Xu Bin's "Dunhuang - Dreams of Yumen Pass III" is a stunning piece of art that transports viewers back in time to a place of ancient wonder and beauty. The painting depicts the front of Yumen Pass, an important landmark in Chinese history that has gone through many changes over the years.

At the center of the painting is a small city gate tower made of earth, which serves as a reminder of the pass's past prosperity and glory. The flag on top of the tower flutters in the wind, symbolizing the enduring strength and resilience of the place. Xu Bin has drawn a shiny strip on the city wall, which serves as a historical film, recording the many ups and downs that Yumen Pass has gone through over the years.

On either side of the path leading up to the pass, the artist has depicted a group of sculptures. These sculptures are layered, symbolizing the many different eras and historical periods that have left their mark on the place.
