This was a commissioned piece and I was working on it the day Storm Pabuk was expected to hit Koh Samui, it was to be the worst storm in 40 years, it was to hit us at 1900 hours, so the whole day was full of trepidation not really knowing what to expect.
Luckily just before it hit us it turned very slightly so we missed the eye of the storm, it's impossible to explain the relief, sure we had wind, high seas, rain and floods but nothing as powerful as could have been. We can cope with rain and floods, it’s the wind and sea that scares us
So I was glad to work on this during that day it took my mind of the fear and trepidation of what was heading towards us and there was nothing we could do but wait.
The Duke is playing the drum, the guitar man is playing the sax and the piano while shaking a maraca, the piano girl is helping to play the sax and also the guitar.
