I often spend time on the south coast when visiting my parents. There is always that impulse to walk along the beach, no matter the weather, I am forever drawn to the sea and that vast expanse of open space, perhaps more so coming from a busy area of London.
I try to convey the captivation of the sea, the pull of the tide and strength of the waves crashing on the shore during the winter storms. I aim to describe this feeling using colour, mark making and gesture through paint.
