While painting Plein air the grey skies opened up and poured out their cloud contents. While I had my large umbrella in place, I was not prepared for the drenching rain that ensued. Dabbing my paint between puddles on my palette and applying it to my panel, areas wet with paint would not stick creating an interesting texture that could only come about through painting in the rain. This is a Sunday afternoon scene from a popular destination now refreshingly cleared by the weather in downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon.
