Original artwork description:
This is the second in a series of landscapes that I am currently working on. They are loosely based on plein-aire paintings that I have done. Interestingly, they are all based on Maine landscapes. I am not sure why though, and other places will probably be included as the series progresses. The impetus of the series was just to enjoy the process of painting. They are about the paint, color and brushwork as much as the imagery.
For the past several months, I have worked on large commissions and have been getting ready for several (4!) shows. So now I am painting just for the pure joy of it - and this is the result!
