This painting embodies the anticipation of spring. On the branches crowning the girl’s head, there are both last year’s withered rose hips and new buds, symbolizing the blend of old and new. She covers a hole in her chest with her hands, from which water flows down her belly and arms, as if from melting ice - just as ice thaws in spring. Or perhaps, she is already filled with this water. There are jellyfish floating around with blossoming roses inside them. In the sky, you can see half of a floating fish-moon, uniting both paintings.
