Sunset descending on the 'City of Dreaming Spires'.

An evening walk as dusk was settling over Oxford, inspired this delicate oil painting. The grey, darkening sky at the top of the canvas, gives way to the setting sun as it sinks in the sky, spreading an orangy red light, and silhouetting the spires, trees and colleges of Oxford town below.

Oil paint on stretched canvas.

Edges of the canvas left a clean white (please see additional photo).

Strung and ready to hang.

Signed on the rear and Certificate of Authenticity provided.

Lizzie Butler is a contemporary British painter.
She has exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London and at several London galleries. She has also exhibited internationally, with oil paintings shown in Washington, USA and her etchings exhibited in Japan.
