An artwork which happened totally by chance. The little thrush in the painting flew directly and at speed into my window with a terrible thump. It died instantly and was so beautiful that I just had to paint it and fairly quickly. I made a few sketches the first day then followed up with the painting the next. I didn't really plan the composition but the large space around the tiny body made it seem like a good idea to make the bird look like it was flying in a dream. So it was a surreal feel to it.
Drawn from life (or in this case death) in charcoal and painted in acrylic on paper.
