This is a sheep I saw at Monmouth Show; it appealed to me because of its long curly and disorderly hair, which looked so like dreadlocks. It also has rather a cute face.
It was fun to do, and I was able to add many colours into the fleece, including background colours, bringing harmony to both sheep and background.
The pastel painting has a narrow light oak wooden frame with an off-white mount, that set off the picture without detracting from it.
