This description is more about the title than it is about the picture. While I was sat having a nice glass of wine, the age-old question came into my head, what is an abstract picture? Why I should be asking myself this question after drawing and studying abstract art for the last fifty years is beyond me, maybe I have never found a satisfactory answer. Anyway, with the wine starting to work I started to think that if you can talk in metaphors to get your thoughts across, why can't you draw in metaphors and then it hit me, that is exactly what abstract art does. Abstract art uses symbols, shapes and colour to express a feeling or an emotion. Visual clues to expressing what you are feeling at a particular time.
